What will I be doing?
Great question! We work with many different types of AI and data collection projects and you will be assigned tasks that enhance the performance of the project.
You may be asked to:
- Record short voice samples in your native language
- Review or label data such as text, audio, or images
- Evaluate AI outputs, like checking if a machine response makes sense
- Translate or transcribe content
Each project comes with its own set of instructions, deadlines, and payment details, which you’ll receive before starting.
Some tasks are very simple and quick (like recording short phrases), while others may be more time-consuming or may require specific expertise.
What are my contributions used for?
Your contributions are used by some of the world’s leading technology companies to train and improve AI systems, especially in the areas of language and voice recognition.
For example, your recordings may help make voice assistants and AI tools more accurate and inclusive for people who share your language, accent, dialect, or communication style. They can also help technology better understand speech in different situations like when there’s background noise or multiple speakers.
Your contributions will not be used directly in the AI product. AI training doesn’t copy or reproduce the data it learns from. Instead, it breaks it down for detailed analysis and just learns general patterns from it. Tens of thousands of contributors could take part in a training project, and inputs are analyzed for patterns, not directly replicated.
How do I get onboarded?
The DATAtalent onboarding process is simple and fully online.
- Create your profile – Fill in your personal, linguistic, and professional details as accurately as possible. This helps our system understand your skills and match you with the right projects.
- Verify your email – You’ll receive a confirmation link to activate your account.
- Get matched to projects – Once your profile is complete, you’ll start receiving project invitations that match your background and qualifications. These invitations may come directly from a DATAtalent Project Manager or automatically from the platform based on your profile data.
- Complete the task – Each project includes clear instructions, deadlines, and payment details.
- Submit and get paid – After your work passes the quality review, payment is processed according to the project’s terms.
Please note that tasks are not available all the time for everyone. Project availability depends on client demand and specific language or expertise requirements. Keeping your profile complete and up to date increases your chances of being invited to new opportunities!
What qualifications do I need?
There are no specific qualifications required to join our DATAtalent network. Everyone is welcome to register.
We manage a wide range of projects: some require no prior experience and only ask that you speak your native language, while others may require academic degrees, PhDs or technical expertise in specific fields.
That’s why it’s very important to complete your profile as accurately as possible. Details such as your education, area of study, years of experience, language skills, age, location, nationality, and other personal characteristics can all help determine which projects you’re best suited for.
The more complete and accurate your profile is, the higher your chances of being matched with upcoming project opportunities!
How much will I be paid?
The payment amount for each task will be shown on your task page or task description, please make sure to check the rate before starting. We always aim to ensure that payments are fair and reflect the average time required to complete the work.
All payment details including rate type (flat, hourly, per-entry) and amount are clearly stated in the project description before you start the task. Please note that payment (full or partial) will not be made for tasks that are incomplete or that fail to meet the quality standards.
How flexible is the work?
Our projects are designed to be highly flexible.
You can usually work from anywhere and choose your own schedule, as long as you complete the tasks within the given deadlines. Many of our projects can be done entirely remotely, using your own computer or mobile device.
Some tasks are short-term and self-paced, meaning you can complete them whenever you have free time, while others may require regular availability or specific working hours depending on the client’s needs.
Why don't I see any tasks?
If you’ve registered but don’t see any available tasks right now, don’t worry that’s completely normal.
Tasks open up based on project demand and participant profiles, so there may not always be something available immediately.
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll automatically receive an email notification whenever a new task that matches your profile becomes available. So keep an eye on your inbox as new opportunities are added all the time!
